Sturdy DIY wooden bird house

Poplar splint body with lace roof style. Size is about 19x12.5x18.5 cm so it fits well on our yard tree. It is unfinished so painting is easy, the wood texture looks neat and it resists warp.

Nice lace roof design

The poplar splint has light bulk density but high strength. It feels durable and easy to process. We sanded a little and applied water‑based paint, finish came out clean and safe for kids.

Poplar splint easy to paint

Wood texture is straight and looks decorative. It is not easy to deform during use and it handled outdoor spray coat well. We mounted it with OPP wrap as template and the fit is tidy.

Great yard gift, solid size

Weight about 156 g and the 19 cm height looks right under the porch. Birds checked it same day. The material feels dense and wear‑resistant and it was simple to drill pilot holes.
